There are several ways to tell whether you’ve got a good man or not. One of them is through the BFF test. Does he have your gal pals’ vote? Another is by the way he treats restaurant servers, security personnel, and household help. Is he courteous to the wait staff or does he look down on them?

And of course, there's the question of his fingers. Are his second and fourth digits approximately the same length? According to a study, men with a shorter length difference between their index and ring fingers showed greater agreeableness with women.

“When with women, men with smaller ratios [of index to ring finger] were more likely to listen attentively, smile and laugh, compromise or compliment the other person,” study lead author Dr. Debbie Moskowitz said in a written statement as reported by The Huffington Post.

That means fewer arguments and misunderstandings! But don’t just rely on your man’s digit ratio for answers. Here are a few more signs to clue you in.

1. He does well on the Marriage Material app.
Perhaps the best thing about this app is that it helps you see how your relationship compares to the statistics. Plus, by asking you questions about intimacy, finances, and future goals, it can calculate just how husband-worthy your man really is.

2. He follows through.
A guy who does what he said he would is definitely a keeper. Even little things like calling you when he gets home or picking you up at the time he said he would show that he’s dependable and considerate of other people’s time.

3. He handles conflict well.
If your man is mature enough to deal with problems big or small, then he’s definitely someone whom you can share a future with. But if he’s petty, throws tantrums, and recycles old arguments, then you’d better think twice about your relationship.

4. He’s secure in himself.
A guy who always needs an ego boost is bad news. Most likely, he’ll be jealous, possessive, and unwilling to trust you. You want to look for someone who’s not easily threatened by other guys, a higher salary, or your independent and fabulous self.
