The morning rush we experience every morning is just as stressful for our kids. It’s confusing to not know what’s supposed to happen and what should be done. By having an effective routine to follow, the entire family can skip the entire morning jumble and get through the rest of the day with ease. Here are a few tips to help you sort things out.

1. Bring out the good vibes
We can’t expect everyone in our household to be morning people, but this doesn’t mean that you’re not allowed to encourage a positive morning attitude. If you’re in a good mood, it will rub off on the little ones and set the day’s tone. Make it a habit to greet everyone with a cheerful “good morning” and always wish them a good day. To make it more meaningful, translate those good thoughts into action with a kiss or a hug.

2. Plan the night before
The small things you can plan in advance like picking out clothes, deciding what to eat for breakfast, packing bags, and setting homework aside will save you so much time in the morning. For older kids, you can ask them to write their own checklists and plan things out themselves so all we have to do is make sure everything’s been done.

3. Encourage independence
It may be a big step, but a lot of other parents agree that letting kids do things on their own saves us from arguing and negotiating with them in the morning. Allow your kids to express themselves the way they want to but always make sure that they do it the right way.

4. Start it right
Preparing breakfast in the morning can sometimes eat up a lot of time, especially if you plan to serve something complicated. Why not make something simple but nutritious instead? Breakfast cereal is a good option because it’s both yummy and healthy! Plus, there are many variants to choose from so your kids will never get tired of it!

Begin the good morning habits! Head to your nearest supermarket and choose from a wide variety of NESTLÉ Breakfast Cereals. They’re packed with nutrients and will definitely be something your kids will enjoy eating in the morning.
