Patty Laurel and Patrick Filart were surrounded by their closest family and friends when they tied the knot at Hacienda Isabella. The couple's carefree celebration reminded guests of what the event really was all about: love.

"It was very laid-back, light and easy with lots of personal details. Since it was [our] thanksgiving day, we just wanted it to feel like a big family dinner. We didn't have a fancy program--no games, no video presentations, no live band. We kept it simple, just sharing a meal and meaningful conversations with our loved ones," says the bride of their wedding.

The couple’s big day not only reflected their easygoing personalities, but it also showed that there is so much more to weddings than perfect details.

The bride tells other couples, "Never lose sight of the purpose of marriage in planning your wedding. Some weddings tend to lose the heart of the celebration because of all the fluff. The wedding is just a one-day affair, but the marriage is for a lifetime. So as you plan your wedding, invest more time and energy on strengthening your relationship as a couple."
