Remember that difficult and awkward phase between childhood and the teen years? You were unsure of yourself and looked to other people to define who you were. You had your friends, sure, but for guidance and to know right from wrong, you had your mom to look up to.

Things haven't changed much from when you were young. If you have a tween daughter, know that she is going through the same changes, facing the same challenges, and coping with the same insecurities you did when you were her age. And while you may have the experience that comes with age, your tween doesn't have that advantage yet.
