In school, your child is able to expand her world and build other relationships outside of the family. Because of this, she may want to be part of a circle, to belong. Through trial and error, she will eventually learn to socialize and to interact with her peers, and comparing herself to others may be one way for her to understand herself and the people around her. One obvious way these comparisons can be made is through material possessions.
As soon as this happens, however, your daughter will eventually realize that nothing is equal in the world. Some people have more money, while others have less. Some may be good looking, while others are rather plain. Your kid is capable of understanding and accepting this reality.
