Congratulations, Rose!
46-year-old caregiver Rose “Osang” Fostanes made the whole country proud, as she became the first winner of The X Factor Israel. According to a report from PEP.ph, the grand finals was held at Tel Aviv, Israel on January 14 (Israel time). The live broadcast aired here in the country today, January 15, at 3:00 a.m.
Rose belted out the Frank Sinatra classic (and karaoke favorite) “My Way” for her grand finale, and her performance received an overwhelming standing ovation from the audience.
“Thank you all to the Israelis who gave me the chance to be on the X Factor even though we’re only Filipinos. Thank you so much,” she was quoted as saying.
Rose initially had apprehensions about the competition, as she admitted being insecure.
“I feel that everybody’s looking at me like I’m an alien. I’m afraid that nobody will talk to me because the Israelis see Filipinos working here as cleaning houses. Maybe they will get shocked, 'What’s this Filipino doing here?' Communicating with people is a big challenge for me. I have a very small confidence. Maybe this is why I’m afraid and when somebody tells me, ‘You’re very good,’ I don’t believe them,” she said.
