Having uninterrupted time to write is a writer's luxury. Add a breezy nook and that equals a dream break for an author in the making.
In October, Write Away is offering both the time and space for inspired writing during a four-day getaway at Casa Luminaria in Batangas. The retreat is open to both fiction and nonfiction women writers, with the final class a mix of novel, short story, memoir, self-help, young adult fiction, and romance writers. All genres of prose writing are welcome, since what the participants will have in common is the desire to get into the habit of writing.
It will be an unplugged experience away from the city without WiFi or television to distract from the real work.
Unlike other retreats, Write Away does not require participants to submit earlier works. It also accepts women who need a push to get their ideas on the page.
The participants will be mentored by Sam Sotto, author of the internationally released novel Before Ever After, contemporary romance author Mina Esguerra, and life coach Aurora Suarez.
Apart from hours of writing in various spaces at Casa Luminaria, there will be four workshops, one life coaching session, and wine nights with fellow writers.
Write Away will be held on October 19 to 22, 2017. The P39,500-package includes transportation to and from Casa Luminaria.
