No matter how old we get, there’s still a part of us that gets giddy at the prospect of receiving Christmas gifts. However, no matter how nice we’ve been the past year, we still find ourselves unwrapping a few duds every once in a while.
We don’t mean to sound ungrateful—in fact, we’re very thankful that the giver even thought of including us in their Christmas list—but the truth is, there are times when we receive gifts that are extremely difficult to appreciate. It could be the inescapable stream of figurines, mugs, and picture frames you seem to receive year after year without fail. Maybe it’s a present from a well-meaning loved one, like the kid-sized sando and shorts set from your grandparents, who had apparently forgotten that you’re now a fully grown adult; or it could be a gift that has obviously been recycled, like the fruitcake you gave away three years ago that somehow managed to find its way back to you. Whatever it is, we’d love to hear all about it!
