Singapore is one of our closest Asian neighbors you can visit, but aside from your usual tourist sites, how much have you actually explored of this city state? Andi Manzano shares her favorite spots that you may want to add to your itinerary, too:
If you've already been to Singapore, Orchard Road is probably one of the first places you've vistited for all the high-end stores, but do take a deeper dive into its nooks and crannies as you may find a lot of other surprising things!
FN Tip: You can enjoy Orchard Road without spending so much money. The library@orchard is a place where your inner bookworm can run free, while the Orchard Central rooftop garden can offer you a quiet respite after walking around the whole day.
Our Second Nature
Our Second Nature focuses on clothing that's both chic and comfortable, perfect for your laid-back taste. Andi enjoys its calming aesthetic, as well as this unique perk: if you're a mom, you'll love the little activity nook where your kids can keep busy while you shop.
Tanglin Mall along Tanglin Road is pretty much a favorite haunt of locals, expats, and tourists alike. For Andi, it's a spot that she always frequents whenever she visits Singapore. The best part? The yummy (even familiar) restos across all floors, as well as its basement-level food hall where you can find economical eats.
The Editor's Market
Andi thanks her sisters for introducing her to The Editor's Market (with stores in different locations in Singapore), as it offers an extensive array of chic fashion and lifestyle finds you can buy for yourself or bring home as pasalubong for your loved ones.
No visit to Singapore is complete without trying out their famous chilli crab. Drop by one of the six branches of Jumbo Seafood (or even have some delivered to your accommodations!) and enjoy this award-winning specialty.
