Though Siargao has gained global popularity as a surfing destination, its other attractions are still relatively unknown, and its beaches remain unspoiled. Photographer Jason Zarzuela visits its most popular beaches on Dako, Guyam, and Naked Islands, explores the local towns of Dapa and General Luna, and goes spelunking in Sohoton Caves.

An invitation from friends Dang and Jacq to visit their hometown in Mindanao had my girlfriend and I on a Cebu Pacific flight bound for Surigao City. From there, we would take a 4-hour ride east on a large motorized outrigger to our ultimate destination: Dapa, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte.
