Meet Mark Dimalanta and Raya Mananquil: He's a doctor who'd rather be surfing, she's a model who'd rather be talking than walking the runway. The hosts of NU 107 Rock's newest lifestyle program, "The Magazine Show" debut on Saturday, March 20, 12 noon to 1 p.m.
Dr. Mark Dimalanta has put his stethoscope aside and has opted to be a nomad, chasing waves around the world as a professional free-surfer for the Aloha Boardsports team. The former Huntington Beach, California resident perpetually carries a surfboard, plus another gadget: his beloved camera. Mark has been shooting lifestyle images as a photojournalist for local and international publications. He has also photographed, punch for punch, his sports icon Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas. And now this Filipino-American has come back to embrace his true loves: surfing, photography and the Philippines.
Model/ writer/ animal rights advocate Raya Mananquil adds "radio talk show host" to her already-loaded faux leather belt: She's been in the fashion industry for over a decade having snagged several ad campaigns from local labels, walked the runway in Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong, has hied off across the globe in the quest to learn about holistic healing, and spread the word of vegetarianism as one of PETA’s (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) spokespersons.
Stay tuned for their premiere episode on Saturday, March 20, 12 noon to 1 p.m. as they chat with swimming champ-actor Enchong Dee and celebrity model and Raya's fellow vegetarian Ornussa Cadness.
