Even the most confident lady needs a little morale boost from time to time, and there's nothing like listening to a good song to empower you and to remind you just how wonderful it is to be alive. 1. "DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'" by Journey (1981)

Long before the Glee version came out, Journey had already established this song as one of the greatest rock anthems of all time.



2. "DEFYING GRAVITY" by Idina Menzel from the musical Wicked (2003)

Empowering Lyrics: "It's time to try / Defying gravity / I think I'll try / Defying gravity / And you can't pull me down"

This is one of the defining songs of the Broadway hit Wicked. In the musical, the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba, sings about pushing her limits--a lesson everyone should take heed of.



3. "IT'S MY LIFE" by Bon Jovi (2000)

Here's the perfect song to groove to when life keeps giving you lemons.



4. "MISS INDEPENDENT" by Ne-Yo (2008)

Empowering Lyrics: "Ooh there's somethin' about / Kinda woman that can do for herself / I look at her and it makes me proud / There's somethin' about her"

This Grammy Award-winning song praises independent women who "work like a boss, play like a boss." This one's a great tune for aspiring career women!



5. "GOOD LIFE" by OneRepublic (2010)

Empowering Lyrics: "When you're happy like a fool, let it take you over / When everything is out you gotta take it in / Oh, this has gotta be the good life"

With its feel-good lyrics and beautiful melody, this song always leaves you smiling and ready to face the day.



6. "MR. BRIGHTSIDE" by The Killers (2004)

Empowering Lyrics: "I'm coming out of my cage / And I've been doing just fine / Gotta gotta be down / Because I want it all"

While the lyrics of this song describe someone who thinks his partner is cheating, it's often referred to as a feel-good anthem because of its catchy, upbeat melody.



7. "WIN" by Brian McKnight (2000)

Empowering Lyrics: "I'll never give up, never give in / Never let a ray of doubt slip in / And if I fall, I'll never fail / I'll just get up and try again"

There's nothing like this song's inspirational lyrics, which talk about never losing hope, to uplift you during your lowest moments.



8. "UNWRITTEN" by Natasha Bedingfield (2004)

10. "THROUGH THE RAIN" by Mariah Carey (2002)

Who says you can't get up after a fall? Grammy Award-winning singer Mariah sings about overcoming trials in this song.



11. "ONE STEP AT A TIME" by Jordin Sparks (2008)

Empowering Lyrics: "We live and we learn to take / One step at a time / There's no need to rush / It's like learning to fly / Or falling in love"

If you've ever felt like you've suffered through one too many rejections in your line of work, listening to this song will inspire you to hold on and to keep dreaming.



12. "I WILL SURVIVE" by Gloria Gaynor (1978)

Gloria Gaynor's classic song is a staple on feel-good song lists because of its powerful message encouraging women to keep their heads held high, even in the face of heartbreak.



13. "BORN THIS WAY" by Lady Gaga (2011)

This Billboard chart-topping hit is a good mix of catchy tunes and positivity, as it encourages people to just be true to themselves.



14. "SEXY AND I KNOW IT" by LMFAO (2011)

Empowering Lyrics: "When I walk on by, girls be looking like damn he fly / I pimp to the beat / Walking on the street in my new lafreak"

We all have our off days when we wake up feeling ugly, but LMFAO's "I'm sexy and I know it" mantra is a quick fix to get us out of that rut.



15. "FIREWORK" by Katy Perry (2010)

This uplifting song encourages people to believe in themselves, something we all need to be reminded of from time to time.
