Staying in Manila this Christmas season doesn’t have to be boring if you know where to go. Here, we list down some of the best places to get together with the whole family this year.

1. Resorts World Manila

Be dazzled by the biggest indoor lantern festival in Metro Manila. Listen to the country’s brightest musical theater stars. Attend a Royal Christmas Ball. Whatever your interests are, there are plenty of Yuletide activities for you at Resorts World Manila. Not yet done with your Christmas shopping? Newport Mall has everything you could possibly want for the people on your list.

2. Manila Ocean Park

Avoid the usual crowd of families at the oceanarium by going at night. From 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., you and your family can take a look around at all the underwater creatures, get souvenir photos, eat a light snack, and watch a fantastic mermaid show.

3. Sands at SM By the Bay

Want to go to the beach, but aren’t too keen on braving the traffic to Batangas or Subic? Take the fam bam to Sands at SM By the Bay. With an impressive and spacious court area measuring 28x18 meters, it’s the perfect place to play sports like beach volleyball, beach tennis, and sepak takraw. Go get a tan (if you can) without even having to leave the city limits.

4. Cultural Center of the Philippines

Counting down the days to Christmas? The Cultural Center of the Philippines has an amazing lineup leading to the 25th. The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra performs with conductor Jeffrey Meyer on the 19th while an international folk dance festival is scheduled on the 20th.

5. Solaire Resort and Casino

Forget about the outside world for a while and stay at the indulgent suites and villas of Solaire Resort and Casino. Take a dip in their pool or book a pampering session at the spa. Is everyone in the family a foodie? Trade your usual noche buena for a tour of some of the best restaurants in Metro Manila. And while you’re there, don’t forget to watch Chicago The Musical at The Theatre at Solaire. Tickets start at P1,750.
