There are so many ways to show your father just how much you love him this Father’s Day. You can treat him to a pricey item, you can cook his favorite dish, or, if you’re the artistic sort, you can create a masterpiece especially for him. But if you don’t exactly have the budget, the time, or the skills to do any of these, you can opt to simply sing a sweet song to your dad that can tell him exactly just how much he means to you—it’s a performance he’ll appreciate, whether or not you can carry a tune. Listen to our suggestions below.

1. "FATHER AND DAUGHTER" by Paul Simon

Our fathers assume different roles in our lives as we grow up: they are, simultaneously, our protectors, our cheerleaders, our teachers, and our proudest supporters. Paul Simon’s touching ballad about being a father to a curious, growing girl--much like the relationship between Nigel Thornberry and his precocious daughter, Eliza, in The Wild Thornberrys movie--will surely tug at your heartstrings.

2. "DADDY" by Beyonce

Raising a superstar like Beyonce is no easy feat, and we can only imagine the headaches that Queen Bey must have given her dad growing up. Still, you’ve got to give it to Mr. Knowles; he stayed supporting and loving throughout Beyonce's rise to stardom, and his daughter expresses her utmost gratitude to him in this sweet song.

3. "DANCE WITH MY FATHER" by Luther Vandross

How exactly does a child cope with the death of a parent whom he loved dearly? Luther Vandross’s heartfelt appeal to the higher beings to bring back his beloved father has become a modern-day classic, and it echoes the sentiments of every child out there whose mom or dad left too early.

4. "GLORY" by Jay-Z

Jay-Z’s tribute to his little girl is proof that even the toughest rap stars also have a mushy side. Not all of us may be as lucky as young Blue Ivy Carter as to have a song sung about her birth by her superstar father, but if our dads had the opportunity to do so, we’re sure they’d do the same for us in a heartbeat.

5. "JUST THE TWO OF US" by Will Smith

The multitalented Will Smith’s musings about being fatherhood has us fully convinced that he’s definitely one of the coolest dads out there. The amount of important life lessons he managed to impart to his kids in this catchy rap is proof that fatherhood’s a natural fit for this superstar.

6. "I LEARNED FROM YOU" by Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus

We all made mistakes while growing up, but our parents were somehow able to soften the blow with their support and encouragement. This song by father-daughter pop duo Miley and Billy Ray captures this sentiment perfectly, with Miley expressing gratitude to her dad for teaching her life lessons and Billy Ray telling his daughter that he trusts her enough to learn things on her own.

7. "GRACIE" by Ben Folds

Ben Folds did his best to capture the overwhelming love he feels for his daughter, Gracie, in this touching lullaby. This is a song about a father accepting the reality that his baby girl will grow up all too fast for his liking, but in the meantime, he’ll do his best to teach her everything she needs to know and to show her just how much she means to him as often as he can.

8."SUNFLOWERS FOR ALFRED ROY" by Mariah Carey

As the saying goes, we never know what we have until it’s gone, and this rings true for Mariah Carey, whose personal ode to her late father speaks volumes about the man who raised one of the music industry’s biggest superstars. This song will make you want to tell your dad just how much you love him (and give him a gigantic hug while you’re at it!).

9. "FATHER TO SON" by Phil Collins

Raising a daughter is difficult (just ask your dad), but raising a son is no walk in the park, either. In this song, Phil Collins gives his son some sound advice for surviving the real world, including a few gems about navigating the tricky territory of women—practical advice any boy should receive from his dad.

10. "BROUGHT UP THAT WAY" by Taylor Swift

Who says Taylor Swift only writes about breakups? This touching song tells of a heartbreak of a completely different kind, the one no parent ever wants to experience. Listen to it here for a glimpse of the pain your dad feels every time you shed a tear.
