In the interest of public safety, two local airline companies—Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines—have released a list of flight cancellations for September 14 and 15. This is in anticipation of Typhoon Ompong, which is expected to make landfall over the weekend. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the typhoon is forecasted to bring rains heavier than that of 2009's Typhoon Ondoy.

The Department of Transportation has also issued an advisory on September 12 for passengers to coordinate with their respective transport service providers for trip cancellations and rescheduling. Additionally, there will be Emergency Response Teams in ports that will be directly affected by the typhoon for passenger assistance and aid.
