Aside from the most obvious factor of price (whether you can afford it will immediately determine whether you can or cannot stay at a certain hotel), there are other considerations that should inform your decision. Here are ten questions to ask yourself when selecting accommodations for your next trip:

1.  WILL IT SUIT YOUR ITINERARY?

The general plan for your entire trip is one of the most important things to consider when looking for accommodations. Your activities will also determine the best area for you to stay, and the amount of money you can reasonably spend.

2. WHAT AREA SHOULD YOU STAY IN?

When traveling, book accommodations that are easily accessible from the other spots you'll be visiting.

3. ARE THERE GOOD REVIEWS?

Do your research. Look for photos and descriptions of the hotels you're considering so you can visualize the place as much as possible, but also look for reviews by people who've stayed at the places you're considering so you get a firsthand account of what's good (or bad) about the place.
