The Bechdel Test measures gender bias in movies. To past the test, the movie must have at least two women with names who talk to each other about something other than a man. The test doesn’t evaluate the quality of the film or the quality of the portrayal of women, but it is a basic indicator of the prominence of women in the movies. Surprisingly, even after years of great success for women’s rights, Hollywood hasn’t caught up.
