Myth #1: Solo travel for women is not safe.
Although some women are not comfy with the idea of travelling alone, it can actually be beneficial for you. Take this time to get in touch with your inner self while you discover new things all throughout your physical and emotional journey. Don’t be afraid to explore the world on your own!

Myth #2: Traveling is only for the rich.

Who says only those with money can travel the world? Even if you’re on a budget, you can still fulfill that dream vacation you’ve been planning ever since you were little. There are lots of seat sales and promos online—you just need to be resourceful in knowing when, where, and how to nab these deals. If you’re not a fan of flying, you can always go on a road trip with your friends and visitlocal attractions like Batangas, Zambales, Baguio, or La Union.

Myth #3: Economy class flights are uncomfortable.
It's true that you shouldn't expect first class amenities when you book cheap flights—leg room is an in-flight luxury, after all. There are some budget-friendly airlines that offer good service amidst the less than fancy seats. Check out different airlines and compare. It’s all about finding the perfect airline that’ll meet your standard comfort. You can also ask your friends for the best recommendations.

Myth #4: Having kids hinder you from traveling.

Just because you have children doesn’t mean you should stay at home all the time. It's true that travelling with kids can be a challenge, but there’s nothing more fulfilling than to see the world with the ones that matter to you.

Myth #5: Managing your reward points is a hassle.
Your reward points may be the answer to your next dream vacation! If you’re a frequent traveller, you can earn enough points for one trip and save a lot of money. All you need to do is organize your rewards card by airline so you don’t get confused. Store all the information you need on your phone so you’ll have easy access to it when you need it.

Myth #6: Backpacking is only for young people.

Anyone can go backpacking! You can meet different people with different backgrounds, and it’s a fun way to practice your survival skills. For first time backpackers, it's best to do it with a close friend or maybe your sister—it can be a nice way to bond. The Philippines has around 81 provinces you can explore, and you can check out this guide if you’re planning to hit the road soon.

Myth #7: Vacation rentals are dangerous.
Although some say it’s risky to go for vacation rentals, it’s still a cheaper option–especially if you’re traveling with your family. Laurel Greatrix, a spokesperson for TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals says it’s important to do some research when it comes to safe rentals.

“Travellers can see extensive information on a property before they make their decision–images, traveller reviews, a detailed property description, list of amenities, etc. – so they'll know exactly what to expect and what's onsite when they arrive.”
