Palawan is fast becoming a must-visit destination for many travelers, both local and foreign. Planning your own trip to this tropical paradise? Make sure to add these five activites to your itinerary to make the most out of your vacation.

1. Eat tamilok
Trying the local cuisine is a must. In Palawan, that must-try delicacy is tamilok, a wood worm pulled from the bark of a mangrove tree, which is marinated then eaten raw.

2. Go island hoping in El Nido
Some of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines are in El Nido! The good news: You can visit any (or all!) island your heart desires. Most hotels offer standardized tour packages to El Nido, and all you have to do is pick which to take. If you want to get all the highlights from the tours, try getting a combination tour.

3. Go on a Puerto Princesa city tour
Want to know more about the city of Puerto Princesa? Go on a half-day tour that will take you to some of the city's great historical sights. Baker’s Hill and the Battalion World War II Museum are some of the highlights.

4. Visit the Puerto Princesa Underground River
This should definitely be on your Palawan IT! There's nothing quite like this 8-kilometer long underground river that flows inside a cave with stunning rock foramtions! No wonder it's been names as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

5. Take a dip in Coron's hot springs
Maquinit Hot Spring in Coron is a great place to rest and relax after a long day.
