The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is one of the highlights of the year for the local movie industry, with movie production houses and big name stars coming together to create eight--seven this year--great films of various genres for the holidays. Foreign films usually aren't allowed to air during MMFF season, which makes it great for the local industry.
While the movies of late have turned into rehashes of films that have previously done well in the box office, I still look forward to the festival because it's the only time local movies are highlighted in theaters. After watching (and loving) No Other Woman in October--it had an emotionally charged story about love and infidelity and is now the second highest grossing film of all time in the Philippines--I've got high hopes for the MMFF movies.
Scroll through the gallery below to see what I'm most excited to see in this year's MMFF. How about you, FNites? Are you looking forward to seeing any movies this December? Leave a comment!
