Planning a beach getaway this summer? Make it an even more special trip by heading to a spot that's off-the-beaten-track! Not only is it a great way to discover more of the Philippines' hidden gems and secret spots, it's also the perfect opportunity to enjoy some peach and quiet, away from large crowds. Here, we list down five local beaches that are totally worth checking out.

1. Diniwid Beach, Boracay

Boracay’s White Beach was recently named the #1 beach in Asia by top travel website TripAdvisor. If you want to head to Boracay but aren’t a fan of crowds, though, check out the less populated Diniwid Beach and explore the more serene side of this island paradise.

2. Secret Beach, Palawan
Palawan is a usual tourist destination these days, but if you want to experience something new, head to Secret Beach in El Nido. It’s quite an adventure to get there as the island is enclosed by cliffs. Translation: You need to swim to get to it!

3. Sabang Beach, Baler
Whether you're the sporty type or just craving for a new adventure, Sabang Beach is the perfect destination for you. Located in Baler, it has some of the best waves for surfing, perfect for both newbie and advanced surfers.

4. Alona Beach, Bohol

Alona Beach has become more developed in recent years, but it remains the white sand marvel of Bohol. This beach is known for its tame waves, making it a perfect family vacation destination.

5. Bantayan Island, Cebu
Bantayan Island is located on the northern tip of Cebu. It has great sites like Kota Ruins and Dalton Pass, but most importantly, it has a stunning white sand beach. Because of its location, it’s relatively quiet, which is perfect for a relaxing getaway.
