Over the holidays, it can get tiring to keep hosting parties. So if you're the friend with the nice backyard in the family house or the cozy condo that always becomes the default hangout of every barkada, then might as well prepare some dishes that will be a hit, like BURGERS.

Now, the secret to a good beef patty is freshly ground meat. Ask your butcher to double grind 800 grams of beef shoulder and 200 grams beef fat. Season with 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper; mix well with your hands.

Form 5 thick patties or 8 thin ones. Fry or grill over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes per side for thicker patties, and 3 to 4 minutes for the thinner ones.
