The Holy Week is one of the most awaited long weekends of the year. To many, this is also the best time to fly out for a long-awaited retreat not only outside the city, but even the country (remember that trip you booked a hundred months ago?). After all, isn't being with the fam the perfect way to celebrate a week of love and gratitude?
1. Unwind and de-stress in a Spa Date
Bring the whole family with you and get bubbled up in Ace Water Spa’s Hydrotherapy pool.
On Easter Sunday, Ace Water Spa will be hosting a Hawaiian-themed egg hunt so bring the kids!
2. Immerse yourself in beautiful art…literally.
While visiting galleries and museums is definitely enriching, level it up by taking a class or having a wacky 3-D photoshoot with your mom and pops at Art in Island, Cubao.
3. Go food park hopping!
Food parks are popping up like mushrooms everywhere! At this rate, there may be one in every city. Check out Maginhawa StrEAT in Teacher’s Village, Q.C., which will be open on Holy Week except Thursday and Friday. Better yet, why don’t you tour around the neighborhood to discover new gastro stops to indulge in.
4. After your savory schedule, lose the carbs by biking and jogging at nearby parks.
Stroll around Luneta, and Quezon City Circle. Bask in a memorable sunset by the Baywalk in Roxas Boulevard. Oh, don’t leave the UP Diliman Oval and BGC street tracks out! You can even bring along your furry pals.
5. Have a friendly competition of archery and lasertag
Your parents are never too old to try this out. Head over to 5th floor Megamall B, Fashion Hall where Gandiva Archery Range and Lazer Arena are directly right in front of each other. Megamall opens on Saturday!
6. Interact with the animals at marine and wildlife sanctuaries
If you haven’t brought the kids to Manila Ocean Park, Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife, and La Mesa Ecopark, this is the time!
7. Enjoy a well-deserved staycation in your favorite hotel
Have a dip in the pool and shop at nearby malls while you’re at it!
Whatever you choose to do, what matters is that you take advantage of this time to be with the people you love. If you’re not planning to leave the house, that’s perfectly fine because there’s always the good ol' Easter egg hunt you can organize with the kids and kids at heart.
