As room makeovers go, this bedroom wasn’t completely unfortunate—its walls were structurally sound, the ceiling was intact, and there were two windows that allowed plenty of sunlight into the room. It was very spacious, with one door even leading to a terrace, where the owner's friends love to hang out.

The problem was that, despite having windows, the room looked very dark. Perhaps it was the peeling paint; nearly all of it was gone from one wall, leaving bare concrete, which added to the grayness in the room.
