The homeowner wrote to Real Living, proudly telling the team that her four-year-old daughter earned six medals last school year. She and her husband were training her to sleep in a room by herself and thought a bedroom makeover would be the perfect reward for their little achiever.

It was also the perfect opportunity for them to finally get around to fixing up the lone room in the house that was yet to be revamped. The homeowner recalls that the house, which they share with her mother-in-law, needed some work. “Nag-start na kami mag-organize, unti-unti nagpapaganda ng ibang part ng house (We started organizing, slowly working on the other parts of the house),” she says. Before long, all the rooms were made over—except for their little girl’s.

Real Living
tapped designer Kathryn T. Villanueva to give the deserving child’s room a fabulous makeover. Herself a mother of a four-year-old, Kathryn knew just what needed to be done to turn this space into a room of rest, learning, and fun! See how it all turned out in the gallery below.
