You might think that five men living together would only spell trouble, but Real Living’s winners have no such problems. The harmonious arrangement stems from the fact that they’re all friends and that they have a system in place. They actually have their own constitution of sorts, and even voting powers.
Perhaps the only hitch to this seemingly fun situation was their living space. “The heart of our after-office social life is this 8 x 4m space where we enjoy hosting small dinners, coffee sessions, and transient accommodations for visiting friends,” says one of the apartment’s “founding fathers.” While the entire first floor was pleasant enough, the apartment’s years of serving as a residence for five men were beginning to show.
Real Living asked Vivian Gacad to take a look at the apartment and see if she could breathe new life into it. Her assessment: The flooring was typical of such apartments—cement painted a deep red, making the space appear darker. “This was actually the main problem of the housemates,” says Vivian. “They spent years daw thinking of ways to lighten it up and make it look clean.”
Apart from the floor, the apartment had more than a few issues that needed to be resolved. Find out just how successful Vivian was by browsing through the gallery.
