For most people, souvenirs and photographs are enough to preserve one's memories of a visit to a foreign land. But for this home's owner, a European getaway—visiting old English country homes, in particular—became the inspiration for the look and feel of this house, albeit with Filipino touches.

Simulating a look alien to the local culture can easily turn kitschy. And yet it works here, thanks to the house's proportions. Because of the generous spaces and high ceilings, the vision of a formal, elegant, country look was met.

The result? An eclectic blend of English countryside and neoclassic and antique Filipino elements, thrown together to create a unique, grand, and quirky attire.
