A log cabin in the Philippines? The exterior of this house may look like a ski lodge, but don't expect to find animal heads mounted on walls or bear-skin rugs in front of a roaring fire. But instead of going literal with this interpretation, interior designer Carmen Lim decided to take her cue from the main material used for the house: wood. Guided by this material, she chose contemporary Filipino furniture with clean lines and a neutral color palette.

This home retains some elements of a contemporary log cabin, such as the rustic wood ceiling beams and a clay floor, but the Filipino flavor comes from the clean-lined, bust mostly warm furnishings.
