The pet adoption process is not as easy as pointing at the one you like and asking for it. There is a procedure that all interested parties must follow. At CARA Welfare Philippines, it starts with selecting an animal from their adoption gallery, filling up an adoption form, getting an interview, and subsequently, a personal visit.

According to Karla Kangleon, who's part of CARA's marketing and PR department, the organization's screening process is extremely important. “These little ones are part of our lives, so once there are people who would like to adopt, we want to make sure that they are, they go home to good, loving homes.”

There are also other factors to consider when adopting a dog. “Each family, each home has a different specification,” says Karla. “If you are active, and you want to jog every day, and jog for hours or something, or if you wanna run the kilometer run, then you might want to get a dog that is very active.” A younger dog, it seems, would suit you best.
