Princess was given to us by a friend whose purebred Belgian Malinois had a torrid affair with a scruffy-looking neighborhood Aspin. I was away on a trip when Princess was brought home to us, but on the night I came home, I found her sitting serenely at the top of our staircase, with a goofy doggy grin on her face. It was love at first sight.

I grew up in a physically abusive environment, and I'd just cry my in my room, with Princess snuggling up against me, licking my tears. One particularly bad episode left me crying inconsolably. Out of the blue, Princess started whimpering nonstop. I took it to mean that she was saying that since she couldn't make me stop crying, she'd join me instead.

To sum it up, my Princess is simply the sweetest, most loving, most beautiful being I have ever seen. With the years passing by becoming more and more evident, I realize that I will truly be lost without her.
