Her name is Marti which is short for Martilyo. Yes, you heard it right. As in a hammer. Because we have a older daschund name Paco (nails), that's why we named her Marti.
We bought Marti from Marikina last two years ago after Ondoy for P1,500--she didn't come with any papers and vaccines. When we saw her, nag second thought kami mag-asawa to buy her because of her condition. She was so thin (as in kita mo na traces ng bones nya--halatang malnourished). Naawa kami that's why we bought her na lang. After 2 to 3 days she started vomiting non-stop. We decided to bring her to the nearest vet. They gave her a shot to stop her from vomiting and canned food which was fed to her using a syringe. It worked after a couple of days. After that she started vomiting again, we bought her in again. The vet suggested that i-confine na siya. The vet's finding is madami siyang bulate, so she was de-wormed twice. She stayed at the vet for 4 to 5 days. We spent around P5,000, so parang bumili kami ng dog na with papers and vaccines.
Pero hindi naman kami nagsisi mag-asawa (But my husband and I don't regret our decision). Today, Marti is a very loving, playful, and a happy dog. I could say she has a very big part of my heart with her. I love her so much that I could give everything to her. The happiness she gives us, the love she shows us--kulang pa yung 5,000 na ginastos namin. Because Marti is a very priceless dog. She's a gift from God.
Maybe because God knows how stressed and lonely I am that time, that's why he gave a great companion and a best friend. My Marti is worth living for. Salute to my Daschund, Marti. I love you.
