Earlier this year, me and my hubby were in search of a new pet; our hearts were longing to have a pet on whom we could pour our love and care, and we were also thinking that this would be good practice for parenting a child. After researching a bit on what breed to get, we decided to buy a Yorkie--hypoallergenic, less shedding, and sweet and playful. Fortunately, we found a good breeder, contacted her, and immediately went to their kennel to see the puppy. The very first time we laid eyes on this little Yorkie, our hearts melted and fireworks flew--it's really like falling in love for the first time, that's what we felt at that moment. He's so tiny, sweet, and very gentle. His fur is so black and thick, and we thought of naming him Night, but we didn't want to be too literal, so we named him Knight. He's my Knight in Black Shining Armor.
Then the honeymoon stage ended. The first few months were not as easy as we thought they would be--Knight had eating problems, hypoglycemia, potty training, and the adjustment period began! But with love and care, we pushed through, and the hardships of owning a dog proved so worth it. He's active, playful, and very sweet right now. He likes to have your attention all the time. If he thinks he's being ignored, he will steal our slippers and put them on his bed, so that when we look for them, he'll be right there with them. And if that doesn't get our attention, he will jump at our legs or feet, telling us he needs to play or be noticed.
