My name is Iwamoto, and I’m named after a reality show contestant of Japanese descent. My adopted family thought that since I’m a Japanese Spitz, it would only be proper that I have a Japanese name too. Oh well.
I’m now seven months old. I have shiny white fur, pink pointed ears, and I don’t bark a lot. Kids passing by our little picket fence mistake me for a little wolf because of my snout and ears. They sometimes call me Snowy, which really sounds better than Iwamoto in my young doggy opinion, due to my very white fur.
Although I adore meatballs (meatballs?! yeah!), I also enjoy all the sweet treats my elder human sister always gives me whenever she gets home from work.
I was four months old when my human family took me. I didn’t feel much welcomed at first, sensing my new human mom’s lack of fondness towards me. Turned out I was right, my supposedly new mama didn’t want me. She just gave in to her daughter’s persistence to get a dog.
Well, I can’t really blame her, we puppies are naturally makulit. We lick and nibble everyone (and everything) we see, we pee and poo anywhere we want. We are a neat freak's absolute nightmare.
This went on for some weeks. But in all fairness to my little doggy baby self, in less than a month, I learned to relieve myself only in the human family comfort room or outside the house. I was so proud of myself, so cute of me. But this did not change anything. Human mama was still not that fond of me.
That is until the time I got really sick.
The vet declared that I only have a 50-percent chance of making it. I shrunk and felt really weak. I felt hearts breaking inside my new home.
I felt really sick and sad, but my new human family took care of me, even my new not-so-fond-of-me mom human. She took care of my food, while my new dad human took care of my hygiene.
For once, I felt everyone's warmth. Mom human made sure I only eat the right food and that I take my vitamins daily. She took really good care of me, and now I've never felt better. I grew up a few more inches and gained lots of pounds. I feel all grown up.
My new mom and I grew much more closer to each other too, as we are often the ones left alone in the house. She's really sweet.
I love sleeping near any one of them, most of the time beside their feet when they're watching TV. I don't know, it just feels, warm. Now I can truly say that I have now a new home where I feel so loved and protected. I am Iwamoto Cayetano.
