For a certain part of the Filipino population, the advent of the Christmas season doesn't just mean that week-long breaks and shopping sprees are right around the corner, it also marks the start of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Fortunately for them, it's that time of the year again, and the said festival will kick off in a matter of days. Unfortunately for the others-the people who reside in the metro but aren't necessarily fans of this annual affair-the Parade of Stars is happening on December 22, Sunday. In light of the launch of this year's MMFF, heavy traffic is expected in some parts of Metro Manila.
If it's any consolation, though, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has us covered and has posted a traffic advisory on social media. The parade will take place in Taguig City and is expected to start at 12nn, during which several roads in the area will be closed off. These said roads will be reopened at 7pm. The MMDA has advised motorists to take alternate routes on this day, which we suggest you remember. If you have plans on this particular Sunday, schedule your trips accordingly and try to avoid these areas as much as possible. Consider yourself warned.
