Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that Grab has become an integral part of getting around. And we aren’t just talking about ride-hailing, either—the firm has embedded itself into the local transportation industry as a whole.
Grab has offered Filipinos some much needed respite from busted trains and opportunistic taxi drivers since it burst onto the scene in the earlier half of the decade. Of course, this convenience comes at a cost, and you needn’t look any further than social media to see how much.
By now you may have noticed that some of your friends are taking to Facebook to share their total Grab expenses over the past year. If you’re interested in doing the same, or simply want to find out how dependent you’ve become on its services, all you have to do is head to the Grab Hub.
Here, you can check out your complete ride history—including distance, pick-up and drop-off locations and, of course, expenses—and downloand it as a PDF. All you need to do is provide the site with your mobile number, and it’ll send your Grab app a pin so you can log-in to the website.
In 2018, the average Grab user spent around P7,000. The top 5% of users spent an average of P45,000 and took eight times as many trips compared to the average user. Which end of the spectrum did you fall under in 2018?
