MAKE A MAGNETIC-PAINT BOARD
Memo boards are so useful at home that we can’t manage without them. But instead of settling for the usual padded or framed ones, we suggest you make your own—and in your favorite colors, too. Simply buy magnetic paint and magnets from any home depot. Use a round tray to trace a circle on your wall; protect the outer area with masking tape to ensure that the paint won’t go over. Put up your notes, reminders, and family photos once the paint dries. Do this on your kitchen wall, study room, and cabinets, where you can easily se them.
FLOWER CUPS
Instead of one floral centerpiece for your table, why not have three? You don’t even need vases or a complex arrangement—these lovely pink pineapples already look special when placed individually in large cups. Line them up or group them together—either way, they will draw everyone’s attention. If you don’t like pineapples, then try other fancy or intricate flowers in your favorite colors.
GOT AN EXTRA CHAIR?
Convert it into a trusty side table. Place your favorite books, a desk lamp, and even deserts to munch on when hungry at night. When you need something to sit on, just remove your stash.
EASY LABELING
You can re-use your boxes and magazine racks by keeping them in top shape—and by simply changing the labels. So don’t get stickers or permanent markers! Our tip: Write “family documents,” “bills,” and the like on pieces of paper. Clip them onto the boxes and racks with clothespins. Neat.
A WELCOME GIFT FOR GUESTS
When friends or relatives sleep at your place, you want to see to their every comfort and need. Pamper them further by creating a towel toiletry kit. Fold one end of a towel to make a deep pocket; secure the sides with pins. Insert a toothbrush, a tube of toothpaste, and a perfume bottle, among others. They won’t forget your thoughtfulness and will thank you in the morning.
