We’ve all encountered our fair share of haunted houses locally, with a majority of the homeowners peacefully coexisting with beings from another realm. But what about the haunted homes wherein the tenants are a little bit more…proactive?

New York-based artist Adam Ellis is experiencing exactly that, and is live-tweeting the supernatural occurrences in a thread called “Dear David” on Twitter, complete with videos and mostly-dark-but-still-terrifying photos of “David.” Though some articles claim that the Dear David hauntings are a hoax, the whole story is enough to make you not want to go to the bathroom at night.


Since August of this year, Ellis claims he has been having dreams of a dead boy named David, with a disfigured head. Soon after, the dead boy had allegedly gotten out of his dreams and into Adam’s apartment, appearing by the stairway, outside his window, and behind his door, where his pet cats would all congregate at midnight. And did we mention that Adam says the boy also wants to kill him? Of course, all these were documented by Ellis on Twitter:
