It's going to get worse before it gets better. This is often true for any major fix-up scenario—where it's a relationship, the economy, or a home renovation. In the case of one family of four, what started as a simple DIY job for the kids' bedroom evolved into a grueling two-year renovation project that consumed their three-storey townhouse.
