"It's kind of relaxing to come home to something that's almost bare," says this news correspondent of his new place. But his 41-sqm condo unit on the 23d floor is hardly bare. Though the high-rise pad—clad in a sophisticated palette of black, white, and silver—isn’t exactly spartan, what makes it "bare" is the absence of clutter and unnecessary décor.

"Ang pinaka-decoration lang na gusto kong makita is the clock and probably, yung miniature bike. Pero all the rest, very minimal. Hindi ako mahilig sa mga knickknacks," he explains. True enough, there are only a few pieces that break the monochromatic space, and perhaps the most interesting of these is the show-stopping aquarium headboard.
