For anyone who has been to Boracay, “Station 1,” “White Beach,” and “D’ Mall” are familiar words. As tourist haunts, these places are where most of the resorts, restaurants, and bars are found--and, consequently, where most of the crowds converge. Anyone seeking to get away from the madding urban crowd would be jarred by the chaos at Bora during peak season.

At least, they would if they didn’t know where to go. On the side opposite to popular White Beach is Bulabog Beach, a secondary beach that is quieter, less commercialized, and much less crowded. The main windsurfing and kiteboarding area in Boracay, Bulabog sees its fair share of action from November to March--especially in January, when the International Funboard Cup is held.

People flock to Bulabog to catch such events, but a lucky few have ringside seats. The owner of this beachfront home--which stands on a cliff overlooking the sand and known, but quieter, side of Bora--is one such individual.
