Upon entering the front door, visitors see right into the open courtyard with the wall fountain and straight through to the garden, past the living room, dining room, and lanai. Although the owners' initial reason for such openness was more to keep tabs on all goings-on in the house, it’s paying off in another way as well: they don’t need lights on in the house all the time.
