Cool air, colorful lights, a smile on people’s faces, and extra-intense traffic: These are just a few signs that Christmas is right around the corner. If you’re like us and like to live life on the edge (read: save your Christmas shopping till the very last minute), then check out this handy guide to the holiday schedules of the Metro’s train lines. The Metro Rail Transit Line 3, as well as the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 will be open on Christmas Day, December 25, and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2019.
Here are the 2019 Christmas schedules for the Metro's train lines:
Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT 3)
The train line traversing Metro Manila’s main (and arguably the most clogged) artery, EDSA, will be open through the holidays. Just take note that the last trains on December 24, Christmas Eve, and January 31, New Year’s Eve, will be leaving earlier than usual. Train operations resume the next day a little later as well.

Taft Avenue Station
- First train – 5:41 a.m.
- Last train – 10:11 p.m.

Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1)
The LRT-1 extended their train schedule starting on October 25, then added another extra hour to the last train’s scheduled departures on December 11. The schedule will remain the same, except on December 24 and 31.
