Trends are fun but, by their very nature, transient. With fashion, trends don’t require much of a commitment, but it’s an entirely different case when it comes to interiors. Plunging headlong into the latest look for the home may mean being stuck with a style that would seem dated a couple of years later.
This house fully embodies the classic look; no matter what season—or even decade—it would still remain stylish. It's very much like the little black dress, except that the house is done up in neutrals, the color palette pinpointed by designer Hannah Acab-Faustino.
The color scheme was cream and mocha, with random touches of deeper shades of brown in the soft furnishings. To give the neutral scheme more depth, Hannah added some wooden elements, and played with textures and prints in the upholstery and wallpaper.
Even with a muted color palette, the space itself is by no means subdued—in fact; the furniture pieces have a certain grandness to them. The sweeping curve of the carpeted stairs from the entryway to the living area, as well as the living area itself, echo the look of a hotel lobby: sumptuous sofas one could sink into, stately upholstered armchairs, and a big crystal chandelier hanging from the high ceiling.
Truly, this is a home that will still be enjoyed and appreciated by future generations.
