Commuting in the Metro recently reached whole new difficulty levels with a recent fire along the Light Rail Transit Line 2 that paralyzed the operation of the entire train line from October 4 to 7. Partial operations finally resumed today, October 8—but Angkas is here to lend a helping hand, too. The app-based motorcycle service has announced that they will be offering rides from Santolan to Recto Station (and vise-versa) via the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) route-from October 8 to October 10. The service is only available from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oh, and did we mention that they're doing this for free?
The LRT-2 is now operating from Cubao station to Recto station while the Santolan, Katipunan, and Anonas stations will be closed for repair for the next nine months. The government has also deployed buses to aid stranded passengers but its clear Angkas' latest move has made quite a hit online. And with the train lines daily 200,000 passengers now affected by its partial closure, how could it not?
