They’re always ready to shower you with their unique brand of unconditional love, they’ll defend you to the best of their ability, and they’ll never fail to smother you with furry kisses when you need them most. US Senator George Graham Vest said it best when he remarked more than a century ago that “the one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog.”
