It's perfectly natural to be thrilled when a new furry friend finds its way into your home. But this excitement does not last forever: once old age catches up with your pet, it’s easier to just abandon him in favor of a younger and livelier cat or dog.

That's why it’s important to remember that pets are a lifetime commitment-- they’re not toys that can simply be easily discarded in favor of a newer model. Responsible pet owners should always go the extra mile to take care of their animals, more so during their last days, as a way to return the unconditional love their pets gave them during their entire lifetime.

Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) Executive Director Anna Cabrera shares some ways on how you can show your love to your older pet. Scroll through the gallery to see what she has to say!
