1. Manny Pacquiao came back with a vengeance.

The Pambansang Kamao has proven that retirement isn't an option for him just yet by winning yesterday's match with Brandon Rios. The 12-round bout had kept us on the edge of our seats, but good old Manny did not disappoint. “I told them this is not my time yet. My journey will continue,” he was quoted by Spin.ph as saying. We're still reeling over the aftermath of super typhoon Yolanda, so his victory was a much-needed perk-me-up.

2. Taxi driver from Tacloban reunites with family

Speaking of which, we could never get enough of inspiring super typhoon Yolanda stories, and this heartwarming article from the Philippine Daily Inquirer was equal parts humbling and encouraging. Contributor Ronjo Solis recounts how he met Tatay Ricardo Artiaga, a taxi driver from Tacloban, who hasn't heard from his wife, children, and grandchildren since super typhoon Yolanda wreaked havoc on the province. Lots of good Samaritans soon pitched in to make sure that Tatay Ricardo was able to make it to Tacloban safely--and with means to contact his family, whom he was reunited with on November 17 (Sunday).

3. The University of The Philippines (UP) PEP Squad bags third place in global cheerleading competition

GMA News reports that the UP Pep Squad won third place in the 7th Cheerleading World Championships (CWC) 2013, which was held on November 24, Sunday, in Thailand.
