Are you sensitive to certain ingredients? According to a new study featured on TIME, you may want be extra careful when buying herbal products, as these alternatives may have hidden ingredients that could trigger an allergy attack.

Researchers from the University of Guelph analyzed 44 herbal products from 12 different companies using DNA barcoding, and they found that 60 percent of them contained organic ingredients that weren’t listed in the label. 20 percent of the products used filler ingredients such as rice, wheat, and soybeans, which could cause allergies to flare up.

So for those who may have extreme food reactions, it’s best to first consult your doctor before buying and using herbal products. Ask as many questions as you want, so you don’t accidentally ingest something that might put your life at risk.
