Have you ever had a really bad day when you felt like everything and everyone is conspiring against you because you’re a girl? You know what we mean: it's that day when jeepney drivers wolf whistle at you, when your annoying co-workers imply that you’re too weak to handle the pressure of a promotion, when your own family counts your gender as a limitation. It really gets on your nerves, doesn’t it? But perhaps that’s part of how the idea of girl power rose to popularity. We just couldn’t stand having to suffer another day like that, This women’s month, it is our unspoken duty to raise the flag, make our voices heard, and show the world just what women are capable of. The next time someone makes you feel bad about being a girl, remember these words:
1. "A woman is like a tea bag; you cannot tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water." --Nancy Reagan
2. "There are no mistakes, only opportunities." --Tina Fey
3. "Women have to harness their power--it’s absolutely true. It’s just learning not to take the first no. And if you can’t go straight ahead, you go around the corner. "--Cher
4. "Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent." --Eleanor Roosevelt
5. "I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass." --Maya Angelou
