Whether you’re a morning person or someone who can’t function before her first cup of coffee, here are a few tips to help you start your day right.

1. Check tomorrow’s weather.
Knowing if it’s going to be a sunny or a rainy day doesn’t just help you decide whether to wear open-toed sandals or go with your rainy day flats, but also tells you which roads to avoid, whether to reschedule your meetings or not, or if there’s a need to leave the office early.

2. Meditate in the morning.
Meditation helps clear the mind, relieve stress, and improve concentration. There’s no right or wrong way to do it, according to The Huffington Post, but if you have no clue how to get started, begin by getting into a comfortable position. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Once you've emptied out your distracting thoughts, you can either remain as you are or incorporate a mantra for the day. She Takes on the World founder Natalie Macneil has a quick video tutorial you can follow here.
3. Have a hearty breakfast.
There’s nothing like having a long, leisurely meal while reading the paper. Don’t have anything in the pantry to even make an omelette with? There are plenty of cozy breakfast places you can stop by at on your way to the office.

4. Exercise.
Speaking of breakfast, why don’t you work for your morning meal by doing a bit of physical activity when you wake up. Study shows that people who exercise in the morning burn more calories than those who do so at other times of the day.

5. Create a morning playlist.
You may not be as chipper as some people are before 9:00 a.m., but having great music to sing and dance along to helps! Try: Diana Ross' "I'm Coming Out."

6. Tell yourself to have a great day.
And really mean it!

7. Drink warm lemon water.
Replacing your usual coffee with a hot cup of lemon water can make you feel refreshed and energized—the perfect way to jumpstart your morning!

8. Come up with a mental to-do list.
While on your way to work, think about the tasks that you need to accomplish before your lunch break. Straighten out your to-do list in your head, so you can get a head start on the day.
